J. Stuart Sanford

Stuart Sanford brings experience in M&A, accounting, valuation, and capital markets to Mazzone & Associates.  At Mazzone, Mr. Sanford has advised on transactions in industrials, packaging, building products & services, healthcare, business services, technology consumer, and specialty finance. Mr. Sanford’s deal execution experience is diverse and spreads across assignments including sell-side, buy-side and financing engagements.  Stuart’s role at the firm consists of maintaining strong relationships within the strong relationships within the institutional private equity and private debt community, as well as overseeing the firm’s packaging and industrial market coverage.

Prior to joining Mazzone & Associates in 2012, Mr. Sanford began his career with Deloitte & Touche (D&T), spending nearly four years as an auditor within its alternative investment management group, rising to senior associate. During his tenure at D&T, he obtained his CPA license with the New York State Society of CPAs. As a member of D&T’s investment management group, he received further training in financial statement analysis, valuation of private companies, and exposure to a wide variety of financial products.

In 2009 & 2010, Mr. Sanford served as a representative from D&T for the Youth About Business (YAB) Summer Camp at Columbia University and Emory University in 2014. YAB enables high school students from all backgrounds to experience and gain access to positive role models in the world of M&A and corporate finance.  Mr. Sanford remains active in the community volunteering at Atlanta Food Bank, Trees Atlanta, and Cathedral of Christ the King.

Mr. Sanford holds a Bachelor of Science degree with special attainments in commerce from Washington and Lee University (W&L).
